| Rating: | This very productive variety gives a high, regular yield with outstanding fruit quality. The fruit impresses with its bright colour. The flowers are very resistant to frost damage. Kioto (S) is a high-yielding variety that also fruits on one-year-old shoots. To avoid exhausting the trees, this self-fertile variety needs regular pruning of the fruiting wood and fruit thinning as well. Excessively large crops in successive years can lead to the loss of trees. The slightly negative characteristics of this variety are the high susceptibility of the wood to winter frost damage and the tendency to grow twin fruit. |
