Taste and aroma:ruby wine, full-bodied, low in alcohol, low acidity, fruity (cherry, raspberry)
Sugar content:moderate alcohol potential, low acidity
Use:fruity red wines; frequently blended with Sangiovese
Resistances:normal susceptibility; slightly susceptible to downy mildew in humid climates; good drought resistance
Notes:The name derives from "cherry"; related to Sangiovese and ripens before it.
